Before we begin, you will need two things.
1. Your MRN (Membership Record Number), and
2. The date you were confirmed a member of the Church
Most people don't have those things memorized, so you will need to contact your ward's clerk or assistant clerk responsible for membership records and obtain a print out of your IOS (Individual Ordinance Summary).
If you have your IOS in hand, turn on your computer and open your web browser. You now need to navigate to the following web site: http://www.lds.org/
Once you have made it to the official web site for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you need to click on the link for Stake & Ward Web Sites.
Selecting that link will bring you to the login page. If you already have an account, you can login with your user name and password at the next page. If you don’t, you need to obtain an account.
When you click on the link to Obtain an account, you will then see this screen
You will need to enter your record number, then use the drop-down menus on the page to select the confirmation date that matches the one you have on your IOS.
You will need to then pick a user name. If the one you pick is taken, pick a different one. You will then need to create a password. The site says that there are rules to create your password. The rules are that it be at least eight characters and consist of at least one number and one letter.
You will then have to retype your password to make sure that you remember what you just used for your password.
Then, enter your first, middle, and last names – separately – in each box that asks for each one.
There is other information that you can enter after you are done with this required information. You may need to scroll down the page to see all of the fields (boxes) that you can enter information into. Once you are done, you need to click the Submit box
You now have an account that will allow you to access your ward’s official web site.
To access your ward’s web site, repeat the process shown above until you get to the page that says Stake and Ward Web Site Sign-In and enter your username and password in the appropriate boxes and click the Sign-in button.
You will then be brought to a page that is titled Welcome to the ________ Ward Home Page. Feel free to click on any link that you like. If you were in the Fort Lupton Ward, you would see the following screen:
When you are done using the web site, it is best to sign out.
